Function Health
What you get. A membership rather than a one-off test: 160+ lab tests annually, with testing twice a year plus on-demand additions. The panel is genuinely broad — hormones including testosterone, free testosterone and estradiol; the cardiovascular set that actually predicts events (ApoB, Lp(a), hs-CRP, homocysteine); metabolic markers including fasting insulin; thyroid; nutrients; heavy metals and toxins. Clinicians review every result and flag anything abnormal, and you can add MRI or CT scans at extra cost.
Pricing. $365 per year as of verification, reduced from an original $499. HSA and FSA eligible. Draws happen at partner patient service centers, not at home.
Honest assessment. For someone tracking longevity biomarkers over years, this is the best value on the list on a per-marker basis — buying the same 160 markers à la carte would cost several times more. The limitations are real, though. Function does not prescribe, so if your testosterone comes back at 280 ng/dL you still need a clinician elsewhere. The 'insights' are pattern-matched summaries, not a treatment plan. And twice-yearly testing is too infrequent for anyone titrating a hormone protocol — you will need interim draws regardless.
