Hone Health vs. Marek Health: TRT Provider Comparison

John is an operator with two decades of experience building and leading performance-driven teams. He is not a physician. Performance Protocol exists because he needed a system for training, recovery, hormones, and cognitive output that was built on data rather than marketing — and could not find one.
Every protocol on this site references peer-reviewed research, with full citations listed on each page so claims can be verified at the source.
LinkedIn profileBoth Hone and Marek offer clinician-led evaluation and potential hormone treatment. Hone uses published membership tiers; Marek separates laboratory packages and guided care offerings. Neither should be chosen solely because it can prescribe testosterone. The useful comparison is how evaluation, follow-up, access and total cost fit your clinical needs.
Official published information checked October 18, 2026. This is a desk-researched comparison, not a firsthand clinical-care review. Availability, pricing and service scope can change.
Head-to-head comparison
| Category | Hone Health | Marek Health |
|---|---|---|
| Approach | Digital membership with plan-dependent testing and care | Laboratory diagnostics plus optional guided clinical care |
| Lab options | Advertises 50+ biomarker testing; plan scope varies | Selectable panels and a Comprehensive Total Health Panel |
| Beyond TRT | Broader clinician-led health services; confirm current availability | Broader guided care; specific interventions require assessment |
| Access | Consultation and follow-up depend on plan and eligibility | Care access depends on the programme purchased |
| Published costs | $25/$135/$155 monthly membership tiers; medication separate | $595 comprehensive panel with review; guided-care costs separate |
| Best fit | People who prefer a published membership structure | People considering selected labs and a separate guided-care pathway |
The complexity question
Do not reduce this choice to 'Hone does TRT only, Marek does everything'. Hone advertises broader testing and services. Marek's available programmes also have defined scopes. The important distinction is which service you are purchasing, not a general label attached to the company.
A more complex plan is not automatically better. Multiple interventions can make it harder to identify benefits, adverse effects and unnecessary costs. Prefer a provider that can explain the problem, the proposed intervention, the evidence, the monitoring schedule and the conditions for stopping.
Questions before TRT
Ask how the clinician confirms testosterone deficiency and investigates alternative explanations for symptoms. Appropriate evaluation generally combines symptoms with consistently low testosterone measured under suitable conditions. Treatment is not justified by a single low value or a wish to reach a higher performance percentile.
Discuss fertility before starting. Exogenous testosterone can suppress sperm production. Also ask how blood counts, blood pressure, symptoms and other risk-appropriate measures are monitored, who reviews changes and how urgent problems are handled. Treatment suitability is individual; provider branding does not decide it.
Laboratory flexibility and follow-up
Confirm whether existing results can be used, which collection providers are available for your order and how repeat testing is scheduled. Do not assume that every panel uses both Quest and Labcorp or that a marketed biomarker count describes every tier.
Check the difference between a result review and continuity of care. You need to know who will respond to symptoms, adjust a plan and arrange referral when a problem is outside the service's scope. Turnaround and access should be confirmed directly rather than inferred from 'digital-first' or 'high-touch' marketing.
Compare total costs, not headline fees
Hone publishes Basic at $25, Plus at $135 and Premium at $155 per month, excluding medication. Marek publishes a $595 comprehensive lab-and-review package, but that is not an all-in annual treatment cost. Neither number establishes which provider is cheaper for your needs.
Request an itemised estimate for a year that includes initial and repeat labs, clinician visits, medication, shipping and any separate membership or programme fees. Confirm cancellation, renewal, insurance reimbursement and state eligibility. Price can change, so verify the current terms before enrolling.
How to decide
Choose the service that can deliver a clear evaluation and monitoring plan within your budget. If you already have a suitable clinician, targeted tests and local care may be more useful than a second membership. If your symptoms have not been evaluated, start with that clinical question rather than a provider shortlist built around a prescription.
For delivery methods, compare treatment options only after suitability is established. A formulation that fits another person's routine may not fit your fertility goals, household exposure risks, access or response to treatment.
